NIU by Vikings

Before the short holy week break starts and as an ender for the super tedious school works, I was so happy to celebrate it in a posh stuff your pit-of-a-stomache all you can. #Foodporn coming up!

NIU by Vikings is situated in the posh side of the city - Taguig. It was my first time in SM Aura and it was funny how people kept on talking to me in English because the mall was populated with foreigners.

The buffet chain certainly deserves a pat for NIU in terms of interior design. It screams luxury everywhere and the servers were dressed equally. Heck, I think the servers with the slit and all even out-dressed customers!

I had a hard time finding their comfort room because the door was so posh, I didn't think I was in front of the right room. Their comfort room had chandeliers and and a mini settee when my own room doesn't. That's how posh NIU is.

We hanged out in the comfort room and had a "photoshoot" hence the picture you see above. See also my 'About Me' section for one more photo from the "photoshoot".

Food-wise, I see little difference between NIU and the normal vikings. They just had a few more dishes like they have gelato and cocktails and wine. More sauces. More soup. More raw food. My cousins would disagree though.

I originally intended to  upload the food one by one but I share your suffering in salivation so I collaged it. I pretty much just ate steaks, seafoods (I had to fight for oysters jk) and lots of cakes.

I expected a lot in their desserts but I guess, their cooks are more of a viand cook than patisseries? I mean, who makes macaroons with only one variety? How sad.

I really liked the wine and cocktails. I tried every alcoholic drink they had to offer! I stopped as my grandma kept shooting me glares and fear of vomiting during the ride home. The best drink, I have to say goes to NIU LIFE!

Me getting drunk loljk. That's my normal self.

As expected, the cake was better but when you're used to the boisterous and Viking-like celebration at their normal chain, it's kind of disappointing. I mean, no choir? or violin? In the end we settled with our own 'Happy Birthday' song and a request for the pianist to play the song (They have a grand piano in the middle of the room. Yes!)

Ending this post with a picture of me celebrating my graduation in 2018 - in my course, at my university. *Sends positive vibes to all who're reading this*
